Simultech wins contract to supply simulation test chambers to Rheinmetall MILVEHCOE facility

We are delighted to announce that Simultech has been contracted to supply, install and commission environmental simulation test chambers for Rheinmetall Defence Australia’s Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) at Redbank in Queensland.

The MILVEHCOE forms part of Rheinmetall’s Australian and New Zealand Headquarters and also houses state of the art manufacturing and warehouse facilities, a training centre and a dedicated test facility.

Rheinmetall will deliver 211 Boxer 8x8 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles (CRV) from the MILVEHCOE precinct as it establishes a military vehicle capability in Australia that will create jobs, support the Australian Defence Force and create a sovereign capability that will enable Australian companies to export local technology to the world.

Weiss Technik Environmental Simulation Test Chambers supplied by Simultech Australia consist of a large walk in climate test chamber and two smaller 180 litre temperature test chambers capable of performing tests across a temperature range from -70 to 180 deg C and 10-98% relative humidity.

Simultech Australia Managing Director Ian Firth said the company was delighted to secure the Rheinmetall contract.

“Our company is delighted to have been chosen to supply the Weiss Technik test chambers for this extremely important project. The Weiss Technik test chambers are of a very high quality, with Weiss Technik being one of largest manufacturers of these products in the world. When combined with our expertise in test chambers, we are sure that this will be a very successful project for Rheinmetall.”

The Test Chambers will be installed in mid-2021 as part of commissioning of the MILVEHCOE ahead of BOXER production in 2022.
